External envelope contractor Prater will be playing an integral role in the forthcoming £30 million refurbishment of ARK Academy, a secondary school in Putney, London. The project will enhance the existing sports facilities and see the interior of the academy, including the Grade II listed main school building, undergo a complete remodel.

The ARK Putney Academy is the second project where Prater will be working closely with its Tier 1 metal standing seam supplier Bemo and will be installing the acoustic (attenuation and absorption) roofing system to the new sports Hall, which is replacing the demolished gym block. In addition to the roofing package Prater will be installing new Schuco curtain walling to the existing building, which currently comprises of an exposed concrete façade and in-situ concrete frame. To ensure the school remains in operation throughout the refurbishment – a temporary structure has been built on the site.
