A new device that helps to avoid drilling errors when installing downlighting, sockets and switches onto freshly plastered walls is now available from Gypsumtools.

Plasterspot, which is exclusive to Gypsumtools in the UK, can be stuck to the wall to identify an area that is safe to drill. When the wall has been plastered, the outline of the spot will bleed through the plaster as it dries leaving a well-defined red spot that shows where it is safe to install the downlight or socket.

The innovative Plasterspot has many uses in both the electrical and plumbing trades from installing ceiling spotlights, wall sockets, switches and smoke detectors, to positioning radiators and locating pipework. It comes in multi-purpose trade and project packs, which contain 25 self-adhesive indicators.
