The latest tools to be added to Makita’s 18v cordless range include the new LXT 150mm Brushless metal saw with an impressive cutting capacity of 57.5mm at 0° , as well as two improved versions of the popular 13mm combi drill and drill driver version.

The new Makita DCS551ZJ metal saw will enhance productivity for cladding installers, metal workers and engineers. This LXT machine capitalises on the latest Makita Brushless motor technology, powering the 150mm blade up to 3,900 rpm whilst providing extended operating time, improved power delivery and less battery energy drain.  At just 158mm overall length this compact metal saw benefits from electric blade brake, soft start initial starting, and automatic speed control which increases motor power delivery as the blade senses harder cutting conditions so that the cutting performance is maintained right across the battery power cycle.  The DCS551ZJ is also available as a body only machine and supplied in a Type3 MAKPAC case.

New versions of the popular 18V LXT combi drill and drill driver both benefit from a new, all-metal transmission assembly that delivers maximum drilling power and fastening torque, all housed in a smaller overall body size which aids manoeuvrability in confined space operations. The new Makita DHP482 18V LXT combi drill will run up to 1,900rpm in high-speed setting and deliver a massive 28,500 blows per minute of percussion power. It will punch a 13mm hole through masonry and 38mm flat bit through timber.  It has 21-torque settings, plus drill mode, and is just 198mm from chuck to body back.

Equally compact at just 185mm, the new Makita DDF482 LXT drill driver will push a 13mm bit through steel and generate up to 62Nm of fastening torque. Both machines have the one-hand single sleeve keyless chuck which makes bit changes easy and convenient. The soft-grip housing coupled with the comfortable variable speed control trigger at the front of the grip, with twin LED job lights, make these two new 18V drill models attractive, hard-working additions to the tradesman’s tool-box.  Both are available in body only options.
