Metsec, the Oldbury-based lightweight structural steel and cold roll forming specialist, has been recognised by BSI, the business standards company, as one of the first manufacturers of its kind to operate an Integrated Management System (IMS) that complies with the requirements of PAS 99:2012.

BSI has recognised Metsec’s compliance relative to the design of light gauge building super structures; the design and supply of lattice joists and trusses; the design and manufacture of cold rolled, pre-pieced, welded profiles and open profiles and their accessories; the manipulation and fabrication of welded profiles.

PAS99:2012 certification shows that Metsec has successfully aligned a combination of formal management system standards including ISO9001 Quality Management, ISO 14001 Environmental Management and BS OHSAS Occupational Health and Safety in one holistic framework that results in leaner, more efficient management processes and procedures.

Metsec Quality Manager, Alan Harris confirms, “By obtaining BSI certification, we have ensured continuity in our management procedures, manufacture and supply chain. Our IMS builds on streamlined processes, reduced energy usage and improved health and safety performance, which is helping us to enhance business growth and boost the performance of the organisation as a whole.
