Laing O’Rourke has awarded Stortford Interiors a £5.35 million interior drywall and ceilings contract at Two Fifty One – a striking new 41 storey residential tower at Elephant and Castle in south London.

The major new win is one of the specialist contractor’s first high rise residential schemes and will provide in excess of 300 apartments and accompanying facilities.

The development, located in the heart of Elephant and Castle, is boosted by a seven storey commercial office block, with Stortford Interiors delivering an extensive drywall and suspended ceilings packages to both buildings. The 72-week project is expected to be complete by the end of 2017.

In keeping with London’s reputation for inspirational architecture, Two Fifty One will be an outstanding addition to its skyline with its bold parallelogram form, crisp and white reconstituted cladding and a distinctive veiled triangular apex.

Scott Shearing, pre-construction director of Stortford Interiors said: “We’ve collaborated closely with Laing O’Rourke to seek the best value on the project whilst maintaining the high-quality performance criteria, and liaised with the designers to maximise productivity and programme benefits by implementing preferred build methods and installation sequences.”
