BDL has been awarded the Sword of Excellence by the Plaisterers’ Livery Company in recognition as the plastering and drywall company who, in the opinion of the judges, has shown the greatest commitment to training and in particular, in-house training.
The award acknowledges that the training it delivers is worthwhile and improves business performance.
The Chairman of the Judges said that against stiff competition BDL was “worthy winner (who) produced strong evidence of a real commitment to training across all aspects of the workforce and business. Their training plans and number of ‘in-house’ and external courses attended, together with the qualifications achieved by so many, is indeed very impressive.”
The 14th Annual Plaisterers’ Training Awards were held at Plaisterers’ Hall in the City of London on 1st November and the audience represented a wide cross-section of the plastering and drylining trade, Training Colleges, Independent Training Providers, City Livery Companies with particular links to construction trades and other organisations actively involved in construction skills training.
The Awards were presented by The Rt. Hon. the Lord Mayor of the City of London Alderman David Wootton.
Student of the year was Kenny McAlister and the life time achievement award went to Jeff Orton.
