British Gypsum and Isover have released episode seven of their Building Better video series, this time spotlighting how innovation is shaping the future of sustainable construction.

Hosted by architectural designer and broadcaster Charlie Luxton, the episode explores how British Gypsum and Isover’s innovation teams are collaborating with organisations to accelerate new ideas from concept to reality – helping the industry adapt to evolving demands in sustainability, productivity and design.

Discussing the importance of driving meaningful innovation, Joanna Sparkes, Head of Innovation Exploration at British Gypsum and Isover, says: “Innovation is not just about new products, it’s about rethinking how we design and deliver buildings to create better outcomes for people and the planet. By combining customer insights, academic research and our own expertise, we are developing solutions that make construction faster, more sustainable and more resilient for the future.”

Curtis Burton, Concept Designer at British Gypsum and Isover, adds: “You have those ‘aha’ moments once you put a product in someone’s hands and they realise things they hadn’t noticed before. That’s why quick learning cycles with everyone engaged in the process are so important to driving innovation forward at pace.”

The episode also spotlights innovations addressing sustainability challenges, such as reducing waste, adopting modern methods of construction and designing systems with lower carbon impact. Joanna and Curtis discuss the recent launch of InteWall, a panelised system designed to streamline installation, optimise speed on site and minimise labour requirements.
