CCF, the leading interior building products distributor, has appointed Chris Knight as its new managing director. Chris, who was previously CCF’s Regional Director – North Region, has taken over his new role from outgoing MD Catherine Gibson, who was recently announced as Specialist Merchants Managing Director.

Having started his CCF career more than 17 years ago, Chris is a veteran of the company, who previously held roles including Branch Manager and Regional Sales Director within the business. This deep understanding of CCF as a business will allow him to immediately take the reins, make quick decisions and begin unlocking the company’s potential in the coming months.

In his role as MD, Chris has confirmed that initially his major focus is on solidifying CCF’s place within what remains a challenging market, and the need to focus on meeting and exceeding customers’ needs across the business. He has also reiterated the importance of putting people at the core of the company’s success, and emphasising the importance of building and maintaining positive relationships with new and existing CCF customers.

Chris said: “I am proud to be taking the helm of CCF, a company that has supported me throughout my career. I understand the challenges of the current market and how those affect our business,, but I also understand the power of our people and I am confident that, with the right focus, we can succeed together.

“My immediate focus is on immersing myself in the full business, particularly in areas where I have had less direct involvement in the past, including the south of England. But overall the priority is on ensuring that we keep ourselves completely focused on our customers and how we can help them, by asking the right questions and offering the right solutions. I am also keen that we celebrate our wins and build on what we do well too: our people are our best asset, so while I will be looking to the team to bring some intensity, I want people to enjoy their work and find it rewarding too.”

CCF’s parent company, Travis Perkins PLC, recently announced that a new CEO, Gavin Slark, will take over the helm from January 2026, with Catherine Gibson overseeing all specialist business units within the Group.

Commenting on the new Group appointments, Chris said: “I have always had a very positive working relationship with Catherine Gibson and I am looking forward to working alongside her once again as we both step into our new roles. With a new incoming Group CEO joining early next year as well, it is set to be an exciting new era for CCF and the Travis Perkins Group and I am very happy to be at the heart of it.”
