EcoTherm’s universal insulation solution, Eco-Versal, has been installed as part of two new Grade A office buildings at the Hermitage Court Business Centre in Barming. The new units were constructed by development owners the Gallagher Group and provide an additional 10,450 sq. ft of high quality office space.

Sustainability was a key element of GDM Architect’s design for the project with both buildings targeting a BREEAM “Very Good” rating. To help achieve this, Encon Insulation supplied EcoTherm Eco-Versal to be installed as part of the floor build-ups in both buildings. The versatile insulation product can be simply installed and is suitable for walls, floors, pitched roofs, dormer cheeks and ceilings.

A spokesman from the Gallagher Group commented on the project “Our aim atHermitage Courtwas to deliver top class office space which was also more sustainable. We installed Eco-Versal as it provided the perfect combination of a straightforward product with strong thermal performance, backed by excellent technical support”.

Eco-Versal delivers insulation performance for the lifetime of the building. When covered with a suitable floor covering, the boards are capable of resisting a uniformly distributed load of < 1.5 kN/m2 and a concentrated load of < 1.4 kN.

Construction of the unit (H) was completed in late 2012 and the second building is due to be completed in summer 2013. The buildings include rag stone cladding sourced from Gallagher’s quarry situated adjacent to the business centre. The buildings have already proved a success with Unit H pre-let to Havas Shared Services Limited.
