FIS will open its #iBuiltThis2018 competition in September and is encouraging potential entrants to get ready over the summer with photos of projects they have built related to the built environment.
The competition, which received strong industry support for its launch last year, is image led and will be run completely on social media for three weeks from 3 to 23 September 2018. Winners will be announced at UK Construction Week on 9 October.
The format will stay the same as in 2017 with three age groups: 13 and under, 14 to 18, and 19 and over.
Entrants need to share a selfie of themselves with the image of the completed project they have built, or helped to build, using the hashtag #iBuiltThis2018 on the FIS social media platforms of Instagram and Twitter (@fisorg) or by visiting www.thefis.org. Entrants should insert their details in the comments section, answer their relevant age-group question and submit.
The winners of last year’s competition, listed below, were announced by Channel 4 TV presenter George Clarke at UK Construction Week:
13 and under: Kendrick Long – New three little pigs, a mix of gardening materials, chopsticks and Lego bricks. He won a family package to Legoland. Brendan Williams, CEO of category sponsor Building Heroes, collected the award on his behalf.
