The Gypsum Products Association (GPA), formerly the Gypsum Products Development Association, has unveiled a new name, brand identity, and website, the-gpa.org, reinforcing its commitment to a safe, sustainable, and skilled future for the construction industry.
The rebrand reflects GPA’s evolving role as the voice of the UK and Ireland’s leading gypsum-based building product manufacturers. By collaborating with policy-makers, trade associations, and the wider construction sector, the GPA continues to provide guidance that promotes the highest standards of safety, sustainability, and competence in the specification and use of gypsum products.
John Sinfield, Chair of the Gypsum Products Association, said:
“Our new identity is more than a change of name – it signals our commitment to the future of construction. The sector faces unprecedented challenges, from meeting net-zero goals to delivering safer buildings, and as the GPA we will lead with technical expertise, collaboration, and advocacy to ensure gypsum products remain central to safe, sustainable construction.”
Gypsum products are integral to modern buildings, from creating energy-efficient, durable interiors to supporting a circular economy through recycling and waste reduction. The GPA members, representing the majority of the gypsum manufacturing sector in the UK and Ireland, are united in driving innovation, raising standards, and fostering a skilled workforce.
The rebrand and updated website arrive at a pivotal time, with growing focus on building safety, environmental performance, and the role of materials in meeting climate commitments. The GPA’s refreshed identity balances respect for its heritage with a forward-looking vision for the industry.
