An overview of the product
For a sophisticated and rich interior decor settings, use the Shadowline Drywall for hanging pictures, artworks, wall decorations and more. This ceiling-integrated picture hanging system is made to last using high-quality premium-grade materials. Specially developed to create an invisible picture hanging space between plasterboard walls and plasterboard ceiling, this hanging rail is a perfect addition for a seamless interior decor. It is beautifully and effortlessly hidden between the ceiling and the wall and the discreet shadow line is the only element that appears for a 3D effect. The transparent hanging cords can be attached to the hidden picture hanging system so that the cords are suspended directly from the ceiling. A perfect solution for your home, office, art gallery or even exhibitions, this Shadowline ceiling system is all you need to design the space flexibly.
How the new product was developed, including effective collaboration, knowledge transfer and partnership along the project team
More clients contact us for a flexible art hanging solution, after their interior was finished/renewed. Especially in case of new plastered ceilings and walls, many found it a minus to install a rail system afterwards (drilling in brand new wall, additional rail visible on fresh plastered wall/ceiling).
In modern minimalistic spaces many clients would like to have a flexible hanging system, but as less visible as possible.
After consulting a few of these clients, we came up with the idea to design a product line that fulfilled their needs as good as possible: Shadowline Drywall and Shadowline Masonry.
If a space is built or renovated there could be an opportunity to integrate this Shadowline hanging system while building / renovating. The Shadowline Drywall is a picture hanging rail for plasterboard ceilings and walls (drywalls). The Shadowline Masonry is a picture hanging rail for plasterboard ceilings and masonry walls. Both rails are installed during the building or renovating phase.
Once mounted and finished you only see a small gap (8 mm) where the ceiling meets the wall – the shadow line.
How might this product have an influence on the specification
To make the whole system as invisible as possible, we designed the rail in a way that the slider hanging wires (part that fixes the wire into the rail) is inserted fully into the rail, making it also invisible. The only thing you see is the wire itself. When using transparent Perlon wire, especially our 1 mm variant, even this wire is almost invisible.
How can this product enhance an interior space
Once mounted you won’t see that the interior space is provided with a flexible hanging rail. The Shadowline is fully integrated with the ceiling and only shows a ‘shadow line’. It provides the opportunity to hang a frame, art piece or poster on the wall wherever you like.
Combined with our Twister-wires, you can hang, move or remove your objects as often as you want, any place on every wall in the room without drilling or damaging the wall. Full flexibility and invisibility at the max.
How the product improved usability and / or performance of the interior system
The Shadowline profile disappears completely in the shadow line next to the ceiling panels, yet still offering the advantages of a flexible hanging system: undamaged walls, clean walls and the flexibililty to quickly and easily hang paintings and other wall decorations or move them around as desired.
