Knauf Insulation has appointed Neil Hargreaves as its new managing director for the Northern Europe region. In his new role, Mr Hargreaves will be responsible for strengthening the company’s leading position in the mineral wool insulation industry.
Previously, as finance director, Mr Hargreaves led a number of strategic projects for the business. He takes over from John Sinfield, who is leaving to pursue a new opportunity outside the company.
“I’m delighted to take up this new role at such an exciting time for the mineral wool insulation market” said Mr Hargreaves. “I’m looking forward to building on John’s work to make us the supplier of choice for all our customers across the region.”

Knauf Insulation is the UK’s leading provider of high-performance, non-combustible Glass and Rock Mineral Wool insulation solutions. It is part of the Knauf Group, a €6.5bn turnover multi-national family-owned manufacturer of building materials and construction systems. The company has announced significant investment plans in 2019, including the opening of a new rock mineral wool manufacturing plant in France expected later in the year.
Neil originally joined Knauf Insulation in 2006 as head of commercial finance, before becoming finance director in 2011. Prior to joining Knauf Insulation, he trained as a chartered accountant with KPMG.
