MEDITE TRICOYA EXTREME (MTX), the weather-proof MDF from timber panel innovators MEDITE SMARTLY is being used to protect a Chelsea Flower Show display from English weather.
This year, MEDITE SMARTPLY have partnered with Wallgarden, bespoke maker of children’s playhouses to complete the most beautiful English gardens, and Sarah Eberle, the UKs leading landscape designer, for the world-renowned Chelsea Flower Show.
In a prime location on Main Avenue, a miniature Hampshire-style cottage and miniature London Shop, which features MTX, will welcome visitors with a keen sense of creativity and child-like imagination- a key theme for the show this year.
The London Shop is based on the Pragnell fine jewellery showroom on Mayfair’s iconic Mount Street. The shop front is unrecognisable as MTX, which forms the complete shop front, including the signage and door, to create a traditional Victorian aesthetic.
Nadine Charlton, Founder and Director of Wallgarden, commented: “The smooth, dense consistency of MTX allowed us to easily machine the panels into the shapes we needed, providing us with consistent decorative and functional elements. This helped us to ensure we achieved a perfect period recreation of this Victorian era London Shop.
“Best of all, though, MTX’s 50-year outdoor guarantee means that it’s resistant to water and fungal decay, setting it apart from other, regular MDFs, and making sure this magical creation will last. This would be able to be enjoyed by children now, throughout their childhood, and would even be able to be passed on to their children.”
Heralding the importance of families coming together in the outdoors, getting back to nature and enjoying its positive impact on mental and physical wellbeing, the miniature buildings present magical environments that enable families to enjoy being outside all year round.
Sustainably produced and manufactured, MTX offers an environmentally friendly alternative to plastics and other non-recyclable materials for any unique landscape and design project.
Both playhouses and the surrounding garden will be lit by Chelsea-based John Cullen Lighting and will feature Sanderson’s iconic wallpaper patterns on the interiors, and Pragnell’s jewellery collections, inspired by the English countryside.
The garden can be found on the Wallgarden stand RHW/623 at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show from the 21st – 25th May 2019. Visit www.rhs.org.uk/shows-events/rhs-chelsea-flower-showfor tickets, which are selling quickly.
