Rob Norton, UK Director at PlanRadar, comments on his 2026 predictions for our sector, he said: “The tragedy of Grenfell and the absolute necessity of Awaab’s Law show one thing: we have to start treating construction as if the people who will actually live in those buildings matter. For too long, the industry has simply packed up its tools and walked away the second the keys were handed over. That stops now.
“In 2026, we have to flip the script. Every single person involved, from the top design teams to those on-site, needs to stop and ask: ‘Am I logging this properly for the family who’s going to live here?’ Using digital tools to capture every QA check and material log means we establish a solid, reliable chain of custody. Implementing this digital discipline is common sense, it is a duty of care, and it is the only way no one has to worry about the safety of their own four walls again.”
