The £29 million Strood Academy, a new secondary school in Medway, Kent, is providing outstanding facilities for pupils. The project includes a new sixth form block and vocational centre.

The design and build contractor, BAM Construction, together with The Progressive Group and Saint-Gobain Weber, devised the flooring system for this new build facility. Over 150 tonnes of weber.floor 4150 fine flow commercial screed has been installed achieving an economical solution for this large application area of over 13,000m². weber.floor 4150 fine flow is a standard drying, cement based screed for levelling and smoothing concrete substrates. It can be applied at thicknesses from 4 – 30mm and is ready for foot traffic in 2 – 4 hours allowing fast and convenient access for other trades. It is ready to receive a final floor covering in 1 – 3 weeks following installation.
