It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Barry Eldridge, aged 90, on 23 February. Barry was the Managing Director of Nevill Long prior to Dave Bonner’s tenure and was an employee of Nevill Long for many years.
A previous college of Barry Eldridge, Robert Barker, said “When I started at .Nevill Long Contractors in 1975 as Contracts Manager, Barry, a strong supporter of the SCA (later the AIS, now FIS), was very helpful to me and taught me a lot about suspended ceilings and the interiors industry at the time. Over the years, I had a very pleasant working relationship with him as a colleague, supplier, and customer of Nevill Long. I was also very pleased to attend Barry’s retirement event. During the late 80s, Barry kindly provided my daughter, Sarah, with work experience. Following that, Sarah was invited to work for Nevill Long at the Heston Branch, where she completed 14 years of service until our granddaughter was born in 2003. To this day, Sarah, who now lives in New Zealand, had kept in touch with Barry.
