Drywall manufacturer Siniat has unveiled a new moisture-resistant plasterboard engineered for demanding, high-impact environments.
Combining impact resistance, fire and acoustic performance in a single layer, Siniat Universal™ MR Board provides a robust solution for areas exposed to moisture.
Designed for a wide range of applications, Siniat Universal™ MR Board is ideal for high-traffic buildings, such as multi-residential developments, schools, and healthcare facilities, supporting long-lasting performance and reduced maintenance requirements.
It is the latest addition to the Universal™ board range offering consistent and efficient specification options in projects where moisture resistance is required. By specifying one consistent board across applications, the risk of installation or design error is reduced.
Delivering enhanced H2 moisture resistance (EN 520), the Universal™ MR Board can provide fire resistance up to 120 minutes as part of a Siniat partition system with full EN 13501-2 and EXAP classification. A single layer of 15mm Universal™ MR Board can also achieve severe duty rating in accordance with BS 5234-2 and complies with the acoustic requirements of Approved Document E, saving the need for additional layers of board.
Siniat Universal™ MR Board systems provide consistent, reliable acoustic and moisture performance in one product, avoiding the need to overboard to give moisture resistance. This simplifies wall build-ups while supporting quieter, more comfortable living environments.
For multi-residential buildings, Siniat Universal™ MR systems can deliver 40 Rw dB for internal walls and 45 DnT, w+ Ctr dB on separating walls, helping to create quieter and more private settings. For education and healthcare settings, Siniat offers a range of Universal™ MR partitions to meet the individual requirements of BB93 and HTM-08.
Siniat’s Universal™ board remains the only plasterboard product tested as a complete system including plywood backing to meet the impact requirements of the Environmental Design Guide, Adult Medium Secure Services Annex B Standard. This provides the higher security performance required in settings such as SEND and mental health facilities.
