Wates Construction strengthens regional leadership with appointment of new Preconstruction Director in the West

Wates is delighted to announce the appointment of Jenny Martin as Preconstruction Director for the West, bringing over 25 years of industry experience and a proven track record in leading successful work-winning teams.

Jenny joins Wates from Morgan Sindall, where she has led the work-winning team for the region over the past four years.

Her career began as an estimator, providing her with extensive knowledge of business development, bid strategy, and commercial management. Jenny also holds a degree in quantity surveying and a diploma in construction law.

This appointment marks a return to Wates for Jenny, who previously worked with the business earlier in her career. She brings with her a wealth of knowledge in securing public sector tenders and frameworks.

Jenny currently serves as Vice-Chair of Constructing Excellence Liverpool and was named one of the National Federation of Builders’ Top 100 Women in Construction in 2023.

When asked about her new role Jenny said: “I’m absolutely thrilled to be rejoining Wates and can’t wait to get started. There’s a high level of expertise across the region, and the wider business. I’m looking forward to harnessing that to help drive the business forward and deliver real value for our clients.”

Jenny’s appointment reinforces Wates’ commitment to strengthening its regional leadership and ability to deliver high quality developments across the West.

Wayne Flannery, Managing Director, Wates Construction West, emphasised the importance of the role: “Jenny’s appointment is a key step in shaping the future of our business in the West. We are already delivering a strong pipeline of successful projects. Jenny’s leadership will be instrumental in helping us continue to secure work by building on our reputation for quality, professionalism, and ability to work in true partnership with clients. We’re delighted to welcome her back to Wates.”
